Meg grew up a true farmer's daughter on a tree farm in rural New Jersey that has been in her family since the early nineteenth century. Her passion for living with personality and flair was developed early on as a protégé of her beloved grandmother, who believed that Dom Perignon was the only drink worth drinking and was renowned for the elaborate parties she organized at her home and her divine flower arranging prowess. Later, watching her mother’s career as an innkeeper and hostess-with-the-mostess, Meg learned the ins and outs of organizing affairs to remember – and the value of getting your hands dirty to make events truly special!
After college, Meg’s lifelong passion for bringing people together found expression in working as a professional fundraiser and event planner, including working as the Manager of Special Events at the Morgan Library in New York City.
Meg had always loved brainstorming about the next great party, and working with many of the best-known, most creative and most passionate vendors in New York, she continued to develop the flair for which she has become known. In 2003, she founded Meg Critchell Events to bring that passion, creativity, and most of all fun to a wide range of clients. By focusing on only a handful of projects at any one time, she gives her utmost attention to each and every client, making sure that every party is truly an affair to remember.
Meg lives and works in Greenwich, Connecticut. When she’s not working with a client, she is probably busy fixing a drink and planning her own next party, preferably one involving her husband, her three sons, her two Cavalier King Charles spaniels and her chickens!
